@art_dailydose: @ericpickersgill’s project “Removed” explores our collective dependence on technology, social media, and constant connectivity. The idea struck him after observing a family at a café — all sitting together, yet entirely immersed in their own devices. Despite their physical closeness, the emotional distance between them was impossible to ignore. “It was one of those moments where you see something so amazingly common that it startles you into consciousness of what’s actually happening and it is impossible to forget,” Pickersgill says. A common misconception about the project is that the phones were Photoshopped out — but that’s not the case. “I ask people to hold still while I slide the phone from their hands just before I make the exposure,” he explains. #art #photography
