The more you know, the more you realize how much you don’t know and that makes you feel very humbled

This is totally me. Thank you for this I'd never heard of the Dunning Kruger effect. It explains so much. I feel I have to know everything or I'm unqualified to speak about said issue/subject.

A huge pet peeve. Yesterday I said “stop assuming you’re smarter than me” for the first time and it was freeing 😅

I feel there’s a huge number in society have this. The amount of rubbish I hear as a taxi driver is ridiculous.

There is a quote my teacher used to make at the loud kids in class,; ‘ An empty vessel makes more noise when dropped than a full vessel’.

As a result though, it's alot harder for autists to start a new hobby or skill and stick to it. The neurotypical confidence in something new brings about excitement and dopamine that keeps them coming back. For us it can feel daunting and overwhelming.

It’s only logical. You know what you don’t know and therefor really understand what your actual skilllevel is. Not knowing sometimes results in thinking that you almost mastered it all, result: Instant confidence.

I believe I’ve done about four posts today alone and it’s not even noon about . Who are Dunning-Krueger effect poster children. I used to call George W. Bush this, and my family would be enraged. Pretty funny, because they are also poster children.

I find the constant noticing of details a curse. It makes me so stressed to notice every small thing. Now I know I’m doing it I’ve made the choice to notice but not act. My brain actually tells me about the detail and I tell it that I acknowledge it but I won’t be doing anything about it. Otherwise I feel as though everything I see becomes my responsibility to deal with. It’s overwhelming.
