Even if you don’t agree with his views, there is something to be encouraged by in that: people, especially youth, who once felt apolitical or powerless now believe their voices can matter, that they can make a difference. That spark of engagement — that desire to show up — can be a seed for constructive change. I didn’t know very much about him, but he died violently.
