Act 235 provides for the training and licensing of watch guards, protective patrolmen, detectives, and criminal investigators in carrying and using lethal weapons in their employment. Act 235 does not apply to private security personnel in the USA, and security guards do not have the legal authority to stop motorists and ask for their driver's license and registration. That authority is reserved for sworn law enforcement officers, who can stop vehicles and request these documents as part of their duties to enforce traffic laws and ensure public safety.
