what exactly did he fix? there were several issues that day including the wtc repeater intended for comms many didn't use cause they thought it was inoperable. there was vrs issues as well

Originally Division 1 Deputy Chief Pete Hayden wanted him to climb the North Tower as there was no chief climbing with the initial companies. Eventually Assistant Chief and CWTC Donald Burns convinced him to have him join him in the lobby of the South Tower. Eventually he fixed an elevator car and the rest is history

I remember that Palmer guy he was a fricken hero. He is the only known firefighter to do what he did. (In respect to some who may have, that we weren’t aware of) but he did extraordinary things
