As a grower, all of this is good and accurate information. When growers are taking care of 1000 or more mums they are always thirsty and there is rarely enough people or time to keep the watered properly.

Bucket hack, put a string across the bucket, fill with water then lower mum into bucket. After time is up, pull up on both sides of the string, that raises the mum without needing to stick your hand into the bucket.
