I work for CP. DONT HATE ME. I use my personal car and the low boxes cause so much damage to my car, that I pay for... not CP. That fix is brilliant. drivers with right hand drive vehicles can make the most complex boxes work, but when the driver changes and they have a normal car, we can't do the job. unfortunately, there is a standard for mail box height, width, etc. you said you've had the box for years, if you're on a dirt road the road is often re grated or they add gravel. which makes the height of the road higher, making the box lower. or sometimes the box starts to sink into the ground.

My ex husband worked for USPS and at least around here, this happens for one of two reasons. Auditors are in the area tailing mail carriers to "make sure they're doing everything by the book" and needed to justify the gas when they can't find a problem or someone in the area actually hurt themselves bending or twisting just sliiiiightly too far while being over the age of 30 and so they're out "fixing" the routes so there's "no excuses to get injured"

Postie told my dad his mailbox was “too small & hard to see” so the engineer side of him took over…….. That mailbox is now a 10kg gas bottle (empty ofc) painted silver! He left a note in there the day he put it up saying “recon you’ll miss this one?” 😂😂😂

its happening because the route probably has a new carrier. and is trying to follow the guild lines. where at the old carrier probably didnt care.

you probably have a new mail carrier for that route. its not for being malicious its for safety of the carrier. we have rules we need to follow. trust and believe youre not the only one.

man I so know how you feel. we remodeled the house moved in and replaced the mailbox that was there. well we sat there and replaced the mailbox the exact height distance from the road everything. the next day the post deliver places a note inside saying that it's too far away from the road and it's 6 in too short. the thing is we put it in the exact place that and the exact height. so we moved it closer to the road we raised it up. well the next day she puts another note in. it said that it was too close to the road and it was 8 in too high. so the next day I stood out there and waited on her. well when she came to deliver I asked her exactly where it needed to be and the exact height. I placed it like that and I haven't had any more problems. I think she was just on a power trip.

I GOT THIS EXACT SAME NOTICE AND MY MAILBOX WAS ALSO JUST A FEW INCHES TOO SHORT. 5 YEARS AFTER LIVING HERE. AND THE MAILBOX WAS HERE FOR A MINIMUM OF 10 YEARS BEFORE I MOVED IN! I had to put in a new mailbox that met their standards
