@haleyschuler8: I’ve done both — vaginal birth and a C-section — and I’ll say it: my C-section was the BEST experience of my life. Peaceful, present, and healing so much easier than my vaginal delivery. C-sections deserve way more credit than they get. 💕 Moms, what was your birth experience like? #birthstory #csection #birth #sahm
I had an elective section… birth freaks me the F OUT. And yes ….I cried when they put in the iv, I cried on the walk to the OR, I cried when I sat on the table, I cried when they put the needle in my back … and that was it. Cried out of nervousness- not because I was in pain / scared… because everyone scared me about getting a c section! It was fine, I’m in 8 weeks PP and I feel normal. I’ve felt normal since week 3. I hate that there’s a lot of fear mongering around c sections!!!!

Thank you for this. I’m choosing to have a scheduled c section and everyone keeps telling me “no you don’t.” Or “you’re gonna want to experience natural birth.” And all of the other scary things they say. But I’m honestly terrified of natural birth. I’ve seen videos and done research and I’ve decided that a c section is less stressful for me. I get so much anxiety thinking about natural birth.

I’m so glad you had a great experience with your c-section. That isn’t how it always goes. My c-section has been the most traumatic moment of my life. C-sections are scary.

I’m glad you had a good experience. For me another CS is a literal nightmare. I’ve had literally dozens of nightmares since having my CS. My VBAC was amazing. My CS took 2.5 years to recover from physically, my VBAC I was walking and feeling great within 12hrs. It’s crazy how everyone has different experiences.

THANK YOU!! I’m a FTM and due in April- I’ve been saying since the start of IVF I would be choosing a c section and the amount of hate I’ve gotten is crazy. Love hearing the positive stories!!

I think there is a lot of variation of experience here. I had a full dilation crash c-section with my 3rd. It was literally Worst, most terrifying experience and worst recovery ever. My med free birth with my second was an awesome, empowering experience. I will never willingly have another c-section if we have another personally.

I've been told I didn't give birth because I had c-sections! My first I was in labor for 22 hours and got stuck at 8cm dilation. It was emergent and I felt very overwhelmed and was shaking uncomfortably. My scheduled c-section was my second birth and it was so much better because I didn't have the trauma of 22 hours of labor and being emergent.

People who have had c-sections are saying that they had a bad experience in the comments however I want to know if they had an elective c-section or emergency c-section? Coz I think that would be contributing factor to the good/bad experience they had 🤔

Just because it was a good experience for you doesn’t mean it will always be like that! I actually almost did die and same as my daughter. It is still a major surgery that’s why it’s so scary, because usually people need them when it’s a life or death situation. A planned c section is completely different than an emergency c section!

After having a c-section I wonder why so many women are fearful of them. It feels like birthing propaganda. Like yeah recovery is tough but like it gets easier as 8 weeks go by and scar isn’t even that noticeable (for me at least)

My sister had a c-section with her kids. Her first was for medical reasons, and the others were because she wanted them

Thank you I needed this I was offered a c section because my baby was in breech and I liked that idea v birth scares me, now I had a doctor very happy because she felt the head down and she’s like oh you might go up to 42 weeks and “don’t have to go to the extreme of a c section” like v birth it’s not extreme 😭😭

Yeah no. My emergency c section was terrifying. I got to 7 cm and my babies heart rate kept crashing and they put an oxygen mask on me and there was like 15 nurses and doctors in my room deciding what to do. My husband thought me and my baby were dying because nobody was saying what was happening. They made me change positions every minute while being completely numbed. It was a terrible experience
