صريع الغواني | المودّة لا تُفرَض ليست كل علاقةٍ تستحق أن نتمسّك بها؛ فالمودّة الحقيقية تُبادَل، والكرامة تبدأ حين ندرك أن العطاء من طرفٍ واحد ليس حبّاً. إِذا المَرءُ لَم يَبذِل مِنَ الوِدِّ مِثلَما بَذَلتُ لَهُ فَاِعلَم بِأَنّي مُفارِقُهُ يضع صريع الغواني في هذا البيت حدّاً واضحاً للعلاقات غير المتوازنة: إذا لم تجد من الودّ مثل ما منحت، فاعلم أن الرحيل أكرم من التعلّق. فالمحبّة التي تُفرَض أو تأتي تكلّفاً لا تمنح القلب طمأنينة، ولا تبني علاقةً صادقة. مسلم بن الوليد الأنصاري، المعروف بـ صريع الغواني، شاعر عباسي من أهل الكوفة، انتقل إلى بغداد واتصل ببلاط الخليفة هارون الرشيد، الذي لقّبه بهذا اللقب بعد أن أنشده شعره. ويُعدّ من أوائل الشعراء الذين أكثروا من فنون البديع، فجمع في شعره بين رقة الغزل وجمال الصياغة ووضوح الحكمة. The caliph gave him his celebrated nickname after hearing his poetry.
