I started an oven fire at 14yrs old and called the fire dept and asked how much they charge to put a fire out cuz my parents weren’t home and I only had like $7. 😂

Or you could just move quicker… hi firefighter here. You slam that lid on quick, even if not perfectly seated it will slow the burn substantially allowing you to get the lid seated and subsequently get the fire extinguished.

unfortunately these fire blankets were useless when I needed them. I've since bought a fire extinguisher, which obviously everyone should always have but I didn't at the time. They're not nearly large enough for a severe fire that has escaped the pan at all

Yea from what I was taught in school you don’t wear longs sleeves when cooking because it could catch on fire.
