The dispatcher did a good job trying to keep her calm likely knowing the outcome. It must have been awful speaking to these people in their last moments. Melissa knew, I can't imagine the fear she felt. It still makes me cry 24 years later

I really really hope that the majority of those people just fell asleep from the smoke. I can’t imagine the horror of either being burned to death or having to jump or being caught in the collapse…all options are so horiffic
