Lena Schuett had spent her whole life molded into the perfect, poised heiress every gesture measured, every word careful, every choice made to honor her family’s name. Raised in the quiet, sun-dappled streets of their ancestral home, she was the one who followed every rule, the one who never stepped out of line. So when her father laid down his demand one last duty to keep their family’s standing unshaken she could not say no. Her twin, the wild, brilliant Leila, had run away only days before she was meant to meet her betrothed: Miu Natsha, the sharp, striking woman of powerful lineage whose engagement to Leila had been arranged to bind their families together. There was no time to track Leila down, no way to explain the betrayal without bringing shame down on both houses. And so Lena was told to take her place to pretend she was the sister who had never cared for duty, and face the woman who was meant to be Leila’s. It was meant to be a formality, at first. A meeting, a few public appearances, a promise that the alliance would hold. But as Lena stepped into Leila’s life trading her sheltered, quiet world for the bright, unforgiving bustle of the city, wearing Leila’s clothes, speaking words that were never hers she found herself caught in a storm she had never expected. Miu Natsha was nothing like the cold, distant partner Lena had imagined. She was quick-witted, intense, and saw far more than she let on. With every glance, every quiet conversation, Lena felt the pretense slipping, her carefully guarded heart beginning to betray her. She had come only to stand in for another woman, to play a part and walk away. But what happens when the woman she is supposed to fool becomes the one she wants to keep? Can Lena ever tell Miu the truth or will she lose everything, including the love she never thought she’d find? #lenamiu #lalinalena #miunatsha

The first thing Miu learned after getting lost in the mountains was that Lena was annoying. The second thing she learned was that Lena looked unfairly attractive while arguing. "This is your fault." "My fault?" Lena stared at her in disbelief. "You're the one who stopped to take pictures of mushrooms." "They were cute." "We lost the trail." "Not because of the mushrooms!" "It was definitely because of the mushrooms." The rain poured harder. Miu groaned. Perfect. Absolutely perfect. Lost in the middle of nowhere with a stranger who apparently had personal beef with fungi. The two of them ran through the forest while searching for shelter. The trail had disappeared. The other hikers were nowhere to be seen. Thunder echoed. Miu slipped on a wet rock. "AH—" A hand immediately grabbed her wrist. Lena. For a brief moment, neither of them moved. Rain soaked their hair. Their clothes clung to their skin. Then Miu awkwardly pulled away. "Thanks." "You're welcome." Awkward. Very awkward. A few minutes later, they finally found a tiny wooden hut hidden between the trees. The structure looked ancient. A single window. A small roof. And thankfully— Dry. The moment they entered, both women collapsed onto the floor. Rain continued hammering outside. For a few minutes nobody spoke. Only the sound of their breathing filled the hut. Then Lena opened her waterproof hiking bag. Miu's eyes widened. "Wait." Lena pulled out two dry shirts. "WAIT." Another shirt. Another one. Then a towel. Miu stared. "What kind of Mary Poppins bag is that?" Lena smirked. "I'm prepared." "You packed your entire house." "You packed nothing." "I packed snacks." "Exactly." Miu clicked her tongue. Lena tossed a shirt at her. "Change before you freeze." Miu caught it. The shirt was fit. Probably Lena's. "Turn around." "What?" "Turn around." Lena rolled her eyes and faced the wall. "Happy?" "No peeking." "I don't want to." "Good." "You're not my type." Miu gasped dramatically. "Excuse me?" Lena immediately regretted speaking. "Forget I said anything." "No. Explain." "No." "Explain." "No." Miu continued complaining while changing clothes. Lena secretly smiled. A few minutes later they were both wearing oversized dry shirts. The rain showed no signs of stopping. The temperature dropped. Fast. Unfortunately, the hut had no fireplace. No blankets. Nothing. Just one small wooden bed. Miu stared at it. "Mine." Lena laughed. "It's barely big enough for one person." "Exactly." Miu climbed onto it anyway. The wooden surface wasn't comfortable. But it was better than the floor. Lena sat nearby while checking her phone. No signal. Of course. The silence slowly settled between them. The rain continued. The wind grew colder. Miu curled into herself. At first she ignored it. Then she started shivering. A little. Then a lot. Lena noticed. "You okay?" "I'm fine." Her teeth literally chattered. Lena raised an eyebrow. "Sure." "I'm full Thai. Unlike you." "So?" "We're naturally dramatic." "That's not dramatic. That's hypothermia." Miu glared. Lena sighed. Then stood up. "What are you doing?" Instead of answering, Lena climbed onto the wooden bed beside her. Miu immediately sat up. "What are you doing?" "You look cold." "I'm not that cold." Another violent shiver betrayed her. Miu looked away. Lena hesitated. Then slowly extended her arm. "You can use this as a pillow." Silence. Miu blinked. Lena blinked. Neither knew why the offer suddenly felt so intimate. It was just an arm. An arm. A completely normal arm. Yet somehow both of them looked embarrassed. "You don't have to." "It's fine." "You sure?" "Yes." Miu hesitated before carefully laying her head on Lena's arm. Both instantly froze. Not because of the weather. Because suddenly they were very aware of each other. The small space. The warmth. The smell of rain. The sound of breathing. Miu stared at the ceiling. Lena stared at the ceiling. Neither knew what to say. "This is weird." "Very." "Extremely." "Yep."
