@morninkaufy: How to do a proper easy run? This is what’s worked for me to have a very low HR WHILE making the most of every mile. Most runners are running their easy days way too easy or way too hard. After 2 Ironmans, 22 marathons, and 6 ultramarathons, here’s the science + experience on how to do a proper easy run 👟💨 #fyp #runningtips #marathon #foryou #runtok @Oakley @Garmin Connects @Gymshark @Strava @ASICS @honeystinger
since,I train mostly in zone 3, my performances increase a lot

I love zone 3!! But 117 hr you showed is probably zone 1-2 for you no?

Couple questions: 1. wouldn’t the BPM on the run you showed be in/around your zone 1?

How would you determine what your average marathon pace should be if you haven’t ran a marathon yet? That way I can work backwards and figure out where my easy run pace should be?

This is great info but needs a big disclaimer it is for intermediate to advanced athletes, new runners will get injured in the long term for their bodies not recovery properly

my coach did 60%-70% pace based on our mile time and told us to add 2 minutes. is this flawed?

What’s your max HR? I’m guessing avg 117 for you is lower than z3?

Love your content first and foremost thank you!! I’m having serious issues with one sided tightness in the inner hamstring where it attaches near the inner knee Pace feels very good 7:00-7:15 for race pace but around mile 5-6 the tightness sets in

This always makes me feel better when I have people saying “slow down!” When they see my easy run paces and HR when it’s not even that high, they just want me to run zone 1 & 2. Why? No idea. Jealous. 🤣

My easy runs are usually around the 150 mark, having a MHR of 195 (220-25age) but is this about right for Z2? My longer runs usually sit in Z3 around 170s, but I am new to running with intention. Does all this sound about right? Thanks

How do we set a realistic goal marathon pace while training for first marathon? Does our 5k and 10k race times help us set a goal?

Why are phd sports scientists such as Steve Magness, who coach international athletes, prescribing zone 1 to improve recovery whilst still developing mitochondria and zone 2 on easy days. Also prescribing to stay well away from zone 3 to maximise efficiency of using fat as a fuel, optimise mitochondrial development and minimise fatigue to hit quality workouts correctly?

So if we do our easy runs like that, would our long runs be similar or do we up the pace a little more? I’m seeing the progress, but as I near my 50k I want to ensure I’m doing all I can

I'm confused you said easy runs at zone 3 but your easy run was 117bpm at zone 1?

Just did a half marathon yesterday as part of marathon prep, 87% of the run was zone 3. My fitness has drastically increased after I ditched zone 2 training after I saw a few of your videos. Much respect
