@tee_yourdoula: Replying to @🖤Tracy🖤 Now what I will say Tracy is that MANY of our veterans ARE in need of gov’t assistance. Why? 1. Unmet mental health & medical needs 2. Substance use challenges 3. Economic hardships (many struggle to transition from military to civilian life) 4. Housing barriers. Yes, even w/“access” to VA home loans (bc many have limited rental history, poor credit, and lack of knowledge on processes) 5. Social isolation (you know, because of all the moving around. No stability) 6. Systemic issues - many VA programs are under staffed and therefore benefits are delayed (sometimes denied unfairly) Just to name a few things. So if a veteran WERE to be on Section 8, they would be well within their rights. You know, the ones we fought to protect 😉

I personally think veterans should be able to get major housing discounts and walk into a grocery store, fill their carts and walk out without paying. This country can afford it. I’d rather pay actual soldiers than military contractors.
