It’s not just about being fast. It’s about being accurate and safe. You go too fast, you skip steps or mess up and then you get 2 guys injured or worse.

I get this is a timed test but sending un readable comms is not a good habit to build. An extra few seconds can save lives and have the dispatch not try an decipher your transmission.

Yes speed is important but not in all aspects of a rescue ABC of radio transmission my guy. Accurate brief clear. Can’t help if they can’t understand you

As a retired tower climber we always made sure there were 3 people geared up, harness on. 1 actual climber and two standby just in case. I have been that standby guy and it saves a full minute oe two at times. that minute or two can make a big difference
