@vanessasmithdesigns: Looking for the perfect way to join for knitting in the round? This is my favorite method because it creates a beautiful, invisible join without the fuss of adding or decreasing an extra stitch. I’ve comfortably used it at the front side neck of sweaters—a super visible part!—as well as for hats, cowls, or mitts. It’s also great for cuff-down socks! The join is always completely undetectable even to my eye once the tail has been woven in! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ More Details: 👉🏼 This technique does not require you to cast on any extra stitches, as some other methods might. Simply cast on the exact number of stitches you need for your project. 👉🏼 Before joining, make sure all the cast on stitches are facing the same way to avoid twisting your cast on edge. You don’t want your stitches spiraling around the needle! 👉🏼 In this method, you are swapping the positions of the first and last cast on stitches. Be careful not to drop any stitches off the needles. 👉🏼 The first and last stitches might feel odd to work on the first round, but they will feel and look perfectly normal on the following rounds. Tighten the very first stitch by giving the tail a gentle tug. 👉🏼 Move the tail from the right side to the wrong side by threading it onto a tapestry needle and inserting it through the small gap above the tail at any time after the first round OR move it to the back between the needles before you knit the last stitch of the first round. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What do you think of this method? Will you try it for your next circular knitting project? Let me know if you’d like to see it done with a longer circular needle for magic loop or with double-pointed needles—I’ve got a video for that too! 😘 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #knittingtutorial #knittersoftiktok #knittok #knittingtiktok #knitting

I usually cast on one extra then slip the first over and off. I'll give this a try when I cast on my next project. Thanks for the tip!

Very nice video! But if you initially cast on the exact number of stitches, and then slip off one and push the 2nd stitch over it, won’t you be losing a stitch from the total count?
