I agree with your recommendation about the megger test . I recall one time petrochemical plant in Saudi and Im Saudi asked me to attend investigation about them GE Gas turbine trips after one day of operation for many trials I asked to do Megger test for tge SOV cable to fuel gas valve and finally found this cable was high temp exposed to the cable replaced back ok

I honestly don’t know how people work without a megger, I see so many videos and situations of people just jamming in fuses without checking it with a megger and blaming it on “power bumps”. I’ve found so many shorts that I would have otherwise not found with my regular meter.

Good information but I would refer to it as insulation resistance testing.. megger is a brand and some newbies should learn proper terminology for their proper advantage
