I’d never have stayed sober if it weren’t for AA meetings with kid’s rooms. I hope any parent who sees this doesn’t get discouraged. Take the kids. It’s ok.

Raise me in AA meetings rather than a drunk house hold with no parents attending meetings 🧐 please tell me what’s worse?

Just shows how privileged and short sighted family law is.

I went to a lot of AA meetings with my Dad. Learned how to make coffee. It was a good experience for me and convinced me to never take a drink since my family has a history of alcoholism on both sides of the family.

There’s no reason kids can’t go to AA it’s some peoples only choice

I grew up going to meetings with my dad, there was usually other kids to play with too. I learned a lot from the meetings, as well. Judges like this are the problem

I’d like the judges name who “had to say, children shouldn’t attend AA meetings.” I have some education that should be passed on.

Wait… why? I used to go with my grandma to AA as a kid. There was literally nothing negative. How is hanging out with a bunch of people trying to make themselves better people bad for kids?

Taking kids to meetings is fine. This is an uninformed video. (Obviously taking kid to bar is not okay)

How odd. But ok. The bar part is the only thing that should be a problem

My dad’s AA place had a playroom for the kids. I thought that was great.

So then she can’t go cause obviously she doesn’t have a babysitter. AA meetings aren’t the worst place for a child, let them mom get help anyway she can

Wow…I took mine often. A lot of single mothers and fathers do. People are super respectful. I don’t understand.

There is nothing wrong with taking a child to an AA meeting, especially when it keeps the parent sober. There are many that have childcare.

I grew up in AA. They were usually in churches and we’d go play in the kids class rooms

I went to AA with my mom and my sister didn’t. Guess who never needed AA 🙋🏼‍♀️and guess who did. Some of my best memories involved the meetings and understanding how to cope as I grew up!

As a child of an addict I would have rather gone to AA meetings than cleaned up after a party he threw. AA isn’t the problem the bar and the car are!

My mom took me. And I watched her dig herself out of the hole. You have no idea how many times I think back to that time when I’m having a hard time. The lady that ran the meeting helped me get my ged after she saw me slipping into the hole. If the program is taken seriously, bring the kids, if that’s what it takes.

My daughter's dad tales her. Im 100% okay with it, because he gets to look at why he's staying sober.

I went to NA meetings with my Dad growing up. Guess who decided after hearing people share their stories to never do hard drugs 🙋🏼‍♀️it also taught me a lot about what addicts go through. It was definitely educational.
