If you buy shoes something from China at $2 and sell them for $100, the 15% tarrif is in that $2 making the product $2.30. So there won’t be an increase in the cost of shoes.

Companies are eating the tariff costs. But laying off workers to offset that cost. If I have to pay an extra $100,000 on goods imported, and I can't raise prices of my products, then I will find a few people in the company who make 50k-70k a year to lay off and recoup those losses. That's why the market has been reacting more to Labor data recently.

Inflation was lower in 2024... Before Trump took office. Everything is more expensive now and is continuing to rise every month. Also jobs are being lost and unemployment is on the rise. He hasn't made the situation better, it's actually getting worse. Numbers are hard I guess.

You missed #1 reason. Exporters are eating the tariffs. The US markets are vital to them. Attempting to pass increases on to sellers or consumers risks losing market share to competitors willing to absorb tariffs
