In Pennsylvania, "Act 235" refers to the Lethal Weapons Training Act. This act provides the legal framework and certification for privately employed individuals to carry and use a lethal weapon as part of their job. Pennsylvania's Act 235, the Lethal Weapons Training Act, requires private security personnel and investigators to obtain certification to carry a firearm or other lethal weapon as a condition of their employment. To get certified, applicants must pass physical and psychological exams, a criminal background check, and a firearms and defensive tactics training course. The certification is valid for five years, and renewal requires an eight-hour recertification course.
