@summitseries: Climbing the third highest mountain in Slovenia via the Italian Route (so technically spent most of my day in Italy) was a dream come true. This was the first ever mountain I'd done outside of the UK, and the highest I'd been in altitude 🥹 The Italian Route is the easiest ascent, with via ferrata cables almost the whole way up. We didn't use ferrata kit because it's just very simple scrambling and exposed walking so we felt safe without it, however l'd possibly recommend taking a helmet for rockfall as had a near miss with hikers dislodging rocks above us ⛰️ A must-do route if you're visiting the Julian Alps 🇸🇮 #Hiking #slovenia #mountaineering #alps #viaferrata
