Southern Charm was The South’s attempt at increasing tourism after they fought a War to keep people as slaves. It’s fake also. They’re nice in your face and hate you. Especially to the people they can’t keep as slaves.

“Everyone’s mean” I already know what she looks like. If people were nice to her in the south it’s because she was one of them superior race folks - New York is so diverse they dgaf and don’t give you special privilege for being white.

My neighbor across the hall yelled at me for having pizza delivered from this one restaurant. Told me it was trash. She then yelled next time I am supposed to order from this other place and slammed her door shut. Next time I ordered pizza I tried her place and it was amazing! Once you learn the nuance of NYC kindness, you understand often it includes yelling and a certain level of shame 😆

It's saying good morning to a total stranger, or having a conversation with stranger because you asked how are you today, holding the door for someone, saying please, thank you, yes ma'am, no sir, and so on. In the northeast people are very self centered. Especially in New York. People there barley acknowledge there's other people around them.

I'm from western NY, the difference is were kind but not nice and down south, where i live now, people are nice but not kind. in NY we'll help anyone out while roasting them for whatever. down here they're nice to your face and talk shit behind your back
