@terranlikekaren: Canceling my Audible subscription turned into a full-blown scavenger hunt. It should not take 20 minutes to find one tiny ‘cancel’ button when signing up was literally one tap. That’s the game though — convenience on the front end, dysfunction on the back end. We’ve traded ease for convenience, and now I’m stuck in a cycle of auto-renew, auto-charge, auto-forget-about-your-money. Between Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Apple Music, Amazon Prime, Audible, and who even knows what else — I feel like I’m consolidating my subscriptions the same way people consolidate debt. At this point, I’m convinced we need a ‘subscription debt snowball’ app just to get free. Too many subscriptions, too little peace.
