First, if you’re getting heat from both sides, that usually means you’re following the evidence, not your preconceived notions, which is great! Second, I echo others - get a reaction video out asap with initial thoughts. Let us know how much time and effort you’ve put into it. I’d add that you should include initial conclusion (even if it’s “I have no idea”) and then add some sort of confidence level. Eg, “I’m highly confident this is/isn’t AI” or “this is probably not AI” then indicate of you are going to do more research and when a follow up might be expected. What you do is super helpful, keep up the good work!

For the speed vs accuracy question - I personally felt when I watched your original video that my immediate question was answered (was it ai? no) and I cared less about the follow up info of why (even though it’s cool info!!). I can always come back to that and see that oh, he’s made a follow up with more/better info. But I wanted an answer to was it ai immediately and I got that. Thank you for being informative as always!

FWIW I saw your TikTok early on and it helped inform my opinion on the 🍊video while everyone else was saying it was definitively AI generated. So the speed was a win in my book! But I can totally appreciate the pressure that puts on you as a content creator

You could always make an initial video with the news of what you're checking on with your first impression and then make your update final decision video like this one as soon as you can while taking the time to be as accurate as you possibly can. I appreciate a real human who actually did the work accurately and explained it to us just like you did here over the two second time slot they'd get to explain it. 💙💙💙

The Speed/Accuracy battle is important. I saw your video first and I do trust you, so when I saw later videos about the “morphing finger” I had a more a critical lens because of your video. Speed in reporting accurately is worth the effort, but its essential to remain true to your values

This is really helpful, thank you!!! We don’t have as much experience and knowledge of gen AI, but we have been trying to use the small amount we have to push back on AI claims when we don’t feel they’re likely accurate, and your information is very helpful for that. I will echo another comment I saw that said that, perhaps, labeling a “first response”/“initial analysis” to get things out, then posting a “follow-up”/“more information” video later to expand upon what you had claimed or perceived in the initial video may be helpful.
