Southern Baptists, in my case. My uncle used to force me to go to his Church where I was literally bullied for being born out of wedlock. This was the same church Andrea Yates went to.

American Christianity 🎯 For some time I was so afraid to claim being a Christian (Catholic) because I was afraid I would be perceived as one of them. It really upsets me to hear Governors like Greg Abbott say things like Texas stands for God and guns. They're just so lost.

"American Christianity" is not real Christianity. they've aligned it with Conservatism, nationalism, bigotry and supremacy. I want no parts. im so glad I know the real Gospel of Christ. I pray others get to learn the real truth: the Non American Gospel.

They aren’t Christians if they are choosing to be hateful towards others and judge one another. Jesus says we are supposed to love one another as I have loved you not judge or spread hate towards one another. There needs to be more Christ like people in this world today especially in the Christian community.

Just cause you say something you’re Christian, doesn’t make you a Christian. Jesus said you will know them by their fruits. He said you will know they are his disciples because hey love one another. He said Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

Mexican here. I was forced by a friend to go to a white people church (The Rock Church,Point Loma California) and the death stares I got was insane. I also got told by an employee in their gift shop to “not steal anything”

This. I was praying reading the Bible ever since lent and last night I decided not to pray. Because the Christian right now are driving me away and I hate that.

I felt like i was taking crazy pills when i saw “the sin of empathy” when jesus plainly said the MOST important commandments from God to us is to love God and love each other. Love is KIND and GENTLE and defined plainly in corinthians 😭

Exactly, Jesus is a peacemaker. The Americanize version doesn’t match at all the 1 in the Bible. People are making the same mistake the Pharisees did. Jesus was an immigrant who didn’t speak English. He wasn’t wearing a t-shirt with 🔫 & flag. he was not trying to start fights between States. It’s like people never open the Bible.

It hasn’t “become” synonomous with hatred and violence, it’s always been this way. Look at American history, it’s always been like this. All the murder, slavery, etc was justified, and continues to be justified, by religion. Cognitive dissonance is a necessary condition of privilege
