If you order online and it takes you to ubereats or DoorDash they charge you a couple dollars more for each item. I try to call for pick up or go to the site directly.

Depends on the restaurant. They can change the prices. My pho place has their in store prices be the same as their DD prices

This is called off set pricing . Mainly used when you order from third parties. Why? because you simply are using their platform to order so they need a cut of that money. Normally if you order delivery from 3rd parties like Doordash their price on the tablet is a couple of dollars more because the restaurant is off-setting the cut they have to pay. This doesn't go away even if you switch it to pick up because you are still utilizing the 3rd party system.

Some restaurants don’t change their price for the pickup options. It makes them more money because for pickup orders they don’t have to pay fees to uber/doordash. If people are willing to pay that more for delivery they’ll keep it the same for pickup

I’m always wary of ordering at restaurants through DD/UE because I used to work at a restaurant where someone put us on DoorDash without our permission (don’t have ANY IDEA HOW??) and customers were constantly mad bc their orders were missing.. the orders we never got ??
