It seems clear the man was in the wrong, but taking his life wasn’t necessary. Non-lethal options, like a taser or even a disabling shot, could have prevented this outcome. Regardless of what led up to the incident, a human life was lost, and it could have been avoided. That’s what makes it so unfortunate.
