for those who dont know (and im many years out of date myself, so correction welcomed. The "Standard" is the law of architectural engineering. Interior wall studs, 16" on nether. Exterior studs, 8" OC (may be put of date). Stairs, 7"/11" (note, all 'pitches' are given as a fraction. Rise/Run. It 'rises' 7, 'runs' 11. or up/over, whichever. so if the pitch is a whole number, it's a 45° angle at connection). Now, standards have always been there generally (why yours and mine may not match). However, THE Standard has not. it's more recent with the rise of global superpowers.
