Here’s mine: It writhed beneath the glass. Deformed little shapes I couldn’t take my eyes away from. Some were frozen in place; others shifted. Yet, nearly all clung together in unique patterns. I leaned closer and suspended my palm over the yellow liquid underneath, aware of how easily it could all be ruined. I had returned every few days, feeding, cleaning, and watching them grow. But, one careless decision and weeks of careful tending could instantly vanish. Despite the cellular life’s delicate nature, under that glass petri dish, they felt illogical, something so complex that shouldn’t exist, yet somehow did. PLEASE HARSHLY CRITICIZE IT

This is a niche writing skill that is irrelevant to college. We're basically judging the kids by whether they can write a gripping narrative nonfiction piece. Has very little to do with college papers. I find the whole thing ridiculous.
