I always had a rule. The rules for dad belong at dad’s house. Moms rule belong at mom’s house. No debating… its clear depending on what house you are at.

Dad rules or dad‘s rules when you’re with dad mom‘s rules or mom‘s rules when you’re with mom. And mom and dad communicate on the phone without children listening.

As opposed to asking where you heard it from, maybe ask them what their thoughts are on what they’re saying without judgment. Teenagers love a good debate, but I think more than that they love to be seen and heard and understood.
