You hit the nail on the head when you said 95% of the time it’s not the parts it’s the installer. If the parts have a problem 9 times out of 10 we catch it before it even leaves the shop.

I seen it as well it all boils down to who installed the part if it was bad why did you put it in not to mention always roll the engine to see if cooling tubes clear I lost interest when he called them squirters.

On that piston are the notches bigger on one side because it looks like it had notches on all four corners. Even when not a directional piston i like to line the letters up.

I did see that video & have never had a problem with the piston coolers. Just did one we're another shop bent 3 . we saw the problem & fixed it!!! you're right. still overhauled it. . did it right!!!

Had a M11 about a year ago that I mistakenly put a piston in backwards and set the head down and torqued it, put the cooling jets in after the fact and found it. Shop paid for another gasket. Glad I found it before I fired it up and sent it
