If only either one of us were close by. Last time I was at a fur bowl meet was in 2019 and the guy hosting it had me and my family pay for not one but both of his meets due to him not getting people to pay for their spots. Nearly costed us a grand to bail him out -_-

I sometimes label events with cosplay to attract some new people. Cosplay picnic, Cosplay Bowling. My favorite was when we did a doodle meetup labeled Cosplay Crafts and Coffee. In the posts I make sure to include an image of me so I'm not tricking anyone. Then I share it in the local cosplay Facebook group. Also do it in the off season there are no Sci-Fi or anime cons happening when people are itching to dress up.
