Does he do it when you first put on the saddle? If so, check out info on the vasovagal nerve. When squeezed it literally makes them feel like they are dying and they lay down. You just gotta girth up slowly and let them walk in between tightening and it won’t happen 😊

Have you heard of the vasovagal response before? It can very much look like a fainting spell, and can be caused by a drop in heart rate and blood pressure when the girth is tightened against the nerve.

Im training an ex trotter race horse to become a dressage/riding horse, and he kinda feels like this😂 Hes always running with his head so high hes struggling to build muscles in his shoulders, and the school that had him after racing almost put him down cus they thought he was lame 😭 The poor boy just needed patience and more ground work before getting in the saddle
