Again, they made a bad choice. This was the first mainstream manufacturer that actually had a good idea. They had an EV vehicle that also had an onboard generator much like current locomotive. Essentially an EV with unlimited miles. It had the ability to self charge.Now that would’ve been decent technology.

As a Lightning owner, I’d admit it would’ve probably been a smarter move for automakers to prioritize a mid-sized electric pickup. Only reason I was able to get mine was because they were trying to get it off their lot 🤷🏾♂️.

You nailed it on the head though it’s the price and actually it seems reasonably priced because how much you’re gonna save in gas, but the people that want to save gas money or not the people that want to spend $100,000 on a truck. In my opinion, there’s two ways they can fix this either drop the price or better yet come out with a zero down program even for less than fair credit because they’re so confident the truck will maintain its equity and you’re already getting a $7500 credit from the government

I test drove the Silverado EV at work and it was amazing I just didn’t want to fork out 72k for the trailboss version which in my opinion is the best version

So hypothetically, if ram is bring back the Dakota. Then they’d potentially build a ram charger on that platform to compete with the jeep and bronco. IMO that would be cool

I don’t think it’s price, most pickups in America are status symbols more than actual work vehicles, people own pickups that are expensive asf. I think it’s the range that puts a lot of people off. The EV Silverado is actually decent and gets way better towing range than the F-150 Lightning.

the problem with electric trucks is not the price, car prices are high across the board. the real problem is that the brands ignore their base who don't want an EV period.
