Nails work fine if you’re good wood worker. Screws require pre drilling. No need for rivets. Dowels and dominos would give you a clean look.

that is waste of time it has fine nails for dose kind of work all you do glue it and drill bit it and you good to go

That's not how you use them..you nailed the sleeve in first sll the waybthen the pin ..they font work well that way
