@pureochrissie: Real event ocd with sexual stuff in childhood and teens and at any point is tormenting and shaming! I bet you believe you are the exception to deserving anything good, right? Here’s my take. You deserve support. Join my community and be welcomed no matter what! Link in bio #ocd #pureocd #intrusivethoughts #sexualintrusivethoughts #realeventocd
And plus I always think about confessing things about my past to my non-existing partner.

I think I’ve genuinely ruined my life, while I was 18-19 I was an awful person and I look back now, ruminating about it. It’s a period of time I’ll always regret in my life and now I feel like this is it for me, I genuinely don’t deserve happiness, friends and a good future. I’m sitting with this guilt and shame and I don’t understand at the time why didn’t I realise this behaviour wasn’t okay? when I’m at work I feel so guilty talking to co workers and friends, in my head I keep thinking if only they knew how awful I’ve been, I feel this need to confess everything but I can’t because people would view me differently and hate me. I truly hate myself. Sorry this is so long but I don’t know what to do. I think I definitely need therapy but I feel like the therapist would hate me and even if I went therapy, it doesn’t erase my past. I feel truly stuck like this is it. I’m 23 now and I feel it’s over for me and I just need to isolate myself from everyone.

My biggest fear is that if I was capable of watching/thinking or feeling certain things back then, then I will be capable forever...and the fact that forums and tik tok comments have people saying "eww, u have to be sick", "wtf"...and the anxiety becomes even worse.

Never seen a realer ocd video in my life. Real event hands down has to be one of the worst and toughest subtypes a person could deal with

I have ocd. At first it was contamination fears, it took over my life starting at like 20 - 34 now. My bf died 6 months ago, oh god I didn’t know ocd could take a different shape. The thoughts, oh god, since his death I’ve basically gone through all the themes. I live everyday with shame, we fought so much. I look back at my life and explore and explore all the bad I’ve done to him and in my life. I wake up feeling shame and guilt and go to sleep feeling the same. Right now going through the shame of being me.

Real event is always distorting the memories and the thoughts are always intrustive. It doesnt care about context and needs your reaction. Core fears are its fuel like all ocd types. And worst case is always what it shows you. Acceptance of self and stop compulsions are the way forward. The one thing ocd needs is certainty. Which is also the one thing it will never accept. Only way to win, is to not play.

Thank you, Crissie❤️Real Event OCD is brutal. Your sentiment about not being “the exception” has been helpful for me.

Thank you so much for this perspective, my head feels like a prison and it’s nice to shed some light on what’s happening mentally.

How can you say that when I did something horrible when I was 16? Added to that, I don’t even know if I really did something. It was more than a decade ago, it’s all fuzzy, and a specific memory just surfaced out of nowhere. But it feels real.
