@institute_dermatologists: Ask ID with Prof Niki Ralph Q: “I’m 26 and keep getting tiny, itchy blisters on the sides of my fingers and hand. Is there anything I can do to help?” 😳 Prof. Niki Ralph explains that this is likely vesicular eczema (also called pompholyx or dyshidrotic eczema). It usually presents as very itchy, small blisters on the fingers, sometimes affecting the hands or even the toes. Triggers can include stress, sweating due to hot or humid weather, or being wrapped up in winter. The blisters may sometimes leak fluid and can become secondarily infected. 👉🏻She notes that management focuses on protecting and restoring the skin barrier. Limiting hand exposure to water, wearing gloves when necessary, and moisturising regularly are key steps. Most people also require a prescribed topical steroid, which she recommends applying at night under cotton gloves to increase absorption. 🫧Prof. Ralph advises avoiding harsh soaps, fragranced products and ideally alcohol gels, as these strip the skin further. For daytime use, she highlights @avene Cicalfate as a practical, non-greasy hand cream that absorbs quickly yet soothes the skin. 👉🏻As the skin cycle takes three to four weeks, she stresses that consistency is essential to control flare-ups and maintain healthy skin. #AskID #Eczema #DyshidroticEczema #Pompholyx #SkinHealth

I’m suffering really badly, but any moisturising products seem to make it much worse. I don’t know what to do
