@dadlifeluke: Toddler jealousy + twin feeds = daily challenge. My solution is combination of distraction and getting her involved (Moana also helps sometimes!!) Thoughts? Any other tips? #dadlife #3under2 #twindad #toddlertantrums #parentingtips
I've never seen a man do anything like this before in my life

ppl forget she's just a baby herself really, barely old enough to be reasoned with. dad did very well to make sure both babies were tended to and staying calm

The age gap is too small the first child always gets neglected

really well handled. didn't give in, but didn't make her feel rejected. its hard because u dont want them to feel left out, but also need them to know they cant get their own way.

After 25 years working with kids, you are doing the right thing. Deflect that behaviour and make them feel like you need them 😊

So cute 🥹. Also remember she’s still a baby, not a big girl. Tell her she’s still your baby too ❤️❤️❤

Comments here are wild! He bossed it. I'm sure the twins get more than enough attention. This TINY SNAPSHOT is one minute of him showing how he successfully deescalated a needy toddler. You all need to get a fucking grip

Because you asked – she doesn’t want to be the big girl, she wants to feel like she’s your baby. She doesn’t want to help, she wants you to ask her what’s wrong. I think you should practice asking her how she feels, validate her sadness or jealousy or anger, teach her that the emotions are okay and then teach her to put her hands on her tummy and breathe them away, show her when you feel cross too, show her ways to shake it out of her body, acknowledge it, don’t squash it. For the baby’s safety too. Another tip when I had a toddler and a baby, whenever the baby was my lap or in my arms/feeding when my toddler came in the room, I would always pretend the baby and I were having a conversation wondering where the toddler was, and then we would celebrate When they came in the room. I would sometimes put little snacks or treats on the baby and then say the baby has a present for you and as a result my toddler absolutely loved my baby and was never jealous. Lots of things I didn’t do right of course, but this one just seem to work well for us. Good luck
