I am so happy that you have found a place. Our rooms are not for everybody. That's why everybody doesn't make it in our rooms. Some of them go out and relapse and die and some of them go other outlets. And that's their thing, but there's a sense of ease and comfort and a sense of unity and family and knowing that these people are just like you that makes all of a difference.Welcome to the wonderful world of a twelve step program

AA and NA are, aside from drinking or using drugs, the worst thing you can do if you’re looking to return to a normal life. There are not 12 steps to getting sober… there’s one step. Step #1. QUIT. This is not a disease it’s a decision period. Put a woman with bilateral breast cancer on a deserted island and she dies. Put a drug addict or “alcoholic” on the same island and he eats mangoes, coconuts, fish, drinks fresh water and gets a tan. I speak from experience. I started drinking when I was 12. Drank until 42. The last 25 years of my drinking career, I drank a fifth of vodka every day… every day! When I decided to quit, I quit cold turkey. No withdrawals, no cravings, no desire, no relapse, no meetings, no doctors, no therapy, no priests… just God. This method, by definition, works 100% of the time. I’m not talking about trying to quit and failing, I’m talking about Quitting. If it’s not a decision, as so many say, then tell me, how is it then that anyone could stop ever? Let that sink in. Stop with the excuses and the crutches, relapse, meetings, community… run, don’t walk, from anyone who is dealing with the same issues. Surround yourself with new people, start living your new life and let that old person die… he/she is gone and never existed.
