10 years ago I worked with a girl who had tried eating dog in China. Her family had one companion dog and the rest were for eating. she didnt like it but her parents did.

actually eating dog meat isn't just in china. Most southeast Asian countries do. In the Philippines for example, it is against the law to even mistreat domestic animals (pets) but in certain regions, dog meat is a local delicacy.

This is what happens in US - media highlights those newsworthy stories that are often reflective of extreme groups on both sides. That’s how we have increased hate, lowered tolerance, and political divisiveness we see today.

While I was in China it was explained that they don’t eat small dogs, only big dogs that come from the dog factory’s. I saw pelts of many breeds at the markets, all distinguishable by breed. We were told that it was not a habit most young people participated in but some of the older population still sought it out.

America has a common saying said to kids, "if you dig deep enough, you'll reach China". Obviously not true but I'm wondering if there is a saying in China that says "If you dig deep enough, you'll reach America".
