Sinners was not good. How can you expect me to care about the characters deaths when they hardly built them up? Barely any backstory or reason to feel invested in anyone

Most ppl who didn’t like sinners r from a place where they dont have a culture or heritage that is celebrated, even from a technical standpoint it was amazing

sinners really is beautiful but i dont think it'll win best picture for several reasons: 1. horror almost never wins best picture, that one's obvious 2. the traditional, conventional competing films are very strong (hamnet and OBAA) 3. sinners depends on theatrical release+box office+word of mouth rather than the classic festival awards arc and that influences the momentum a lot 4. it's really audacious [which for me is a good thing] but it can be polarizing for the broad consensus

Weapons, Bring Her Back, and even The Monkey over Sinners. Shouldn't even be talked about as a contender tbh.

I didn't like sinners but I blame the hype. The acting was really good though.

Sinners was a good movie, but I don’t see it winning best picture. There is a lot of strong competition for best picture

Born in 1890 in what was then French Indochina, he grew up under colonial rule and later traveled widely across Europe and the United States, where he encountered political ideas such as socialism and nationalism that shaped his worldview. He became a committed communist and in 1930 helped found the Indochinese Communist Party, aiming to combine revolutionary communism with Vietnamese independence. During World War II, he led the Viet Minh resistance against Japanese occupation, and in 1945 he declared Vietnam’s independence, establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. When France attempted to regain control, conflict broke out, eventually leading to a Vietnamese victory in 1954. During the Vietnam War, he served as the symbolic leader of North Vietnam’s struggle against South Vietnam and its allies, including the United States. He died in 1969 before the war ended, but in 1975 Vietnam was reunified under communist rule, and the former city of Saigon was renamed Ho Chi Minh City in his honor. He is widely regarded in Vietnam as a national hero for leading the fight for independence, though his legacy remains debated internationally due to his role in communist governance and prolonged conflict.
