if it's in a mandir which is very unlikely don't wear shoes but if you're in a gym especially in north america PLEASE wear shoes they dont have to be super nice (i usually wear flats) but those floors are not clean

While I understand that but the organizers aren’t in it for the religious part of it— that’s a pure afterthought that isn’t even set up properly. Nor is the public event venue clean enough to be barefoot.

People wearing shoes and then slamming into your feet is how I lost my toe nail. I hadn’t planned for any injuries so didn’t bring anything and frustratingly the event organizers also didn’t have any bandaids or gauze. Literally had to go home cuz it wouldn’t stop bleeding.
