I think the disconnect is the fact that in those videos a lot of Christian creators are gliding over the fact that he made a lot of very racist and sexist remarks. I don’t think he deserved anything at all but he’s also not suddenly a martyr because he was killed brutally and unfairly.

It’s not that it isn’t the truth. The issue is the selective empathy because I have never seen any of these Christian content creators have the same level of passion for children that are murdered in schools or children being literally blown up in Gaza. They consistently leave out of the conversation Charlie’s hatred and racism towards anyone that wasn’t a white Christian. It’s giving idolatry of a man that was hateful and people can’t even see it because he was a “Christian”.

These comments are worrisome and wild. Tons of people felt something for a man we haven’t met before… such sorrow. We didn’t know him but our souls did and now we feel a shift. If you didn’t feel that I’d ask why that…My heart ached for him and his family. I also hurt for the kids murdered while worshipping. Death is never the answer but it’s not defeat for us Christians

I can’t speak for them and their opinions; But I know that, me personally, I did feel saddened by his death. It was a terrible way to go and then on that same day, children died (yes I’m aware that happens everyday.) but that very thing is what saddens God’s heart. I see issues on both sides of “red and blue”. But it’s clear that the enemy wants division. No one should have to apologize for having empathy in a situation that truly was horrible. Especially when it could’ve put others at risk. (And the sh0t looked professional as well. So there’s something even bigger going on.) idk. I just think that if you’re gonna claim to have Jesus in your life, you should *not* go and hate on them. You should pray for them. “Love your enemies; and pray for those who persecute you.”
