@therenaissanceman59: Torque converter vs Centrifugal clutch comparison on a 223 wildcat engine. I love both sets ups but this engine did not perform with a torque converter on it like it did with just a clutch. It felt sluggish and took forever to get moving. Pedal to the floor and the kart felt like it was barely doing over 30mph. I wish the mph was working on the go pro to see the difference in acceleration between the two setups. Needless to say I'll be putting the clutch back on the engine. #comparison #torqueconverter #clutch #wildcat223 #gokart

Steven Kinnison :
Did you try a juggernaut torque converter?

I had the same issue. They belt was slightly off, so I fixed that and switched out the secondary pulley spring with a higher tension yellow spring. Fixed the exact issue your talking about. Insane torque with good power and thru the gear. max rpm is limited tho

If you ride mainly flat ground like that just stick to the clutches bro, torque converters are mainly for wheelies and off roading

gearing ratio and pully ratio is what makes the difference in performance

Try out the juggernaut driver for the torque converter it makes a big difference.

Having a bike or gokart fast with a tourqe converter is all about tuning stall rpm, driven pulley spring tension, over drive lockout, gearing, belt alignment

Do a stage 2 juggernaut on it. and do some gearing you'll love it and it will increase your acceleration and torque and it doesnt eat belts like the stock driver will

Possibly need heavier weights on the TC so it will max out faster, lighter weights require more rpm to fully engage.

I race electric carts and this is a different side of go cart racing that i don't normally get to see, it cool

It's not the TC. It's your gearing on the sprockets. Go bigger on the drive (front) sprocket. You'll pick up more torque and acceleration.

Can you tune them CVT by changing the real spring or changing the roller weights ?

maybe the stall? I ain't no transmission tech but like stall makes a huge difference

do you have to have a clutch to have a torque converter or can you have either?

My clutch tops out in like 4 seconds and rips burnouts right off the line so I don’t see the benefit as much of a tongue converter

Y not a semi auto ? Best in my opinion because u only have to let off throttle

I took the clutch off my mini bike and put the torque converter on and I could not believe the increase in power and speed top and bottom end. The torque converter is so so so much better

You mean a CVT vs Centrifuge Clutch. It’s not a TC.

more of a CVT. it's weighted wrong.

you can also change the weights in the torque converter, usually less than $15
