I’m reaching out with deep respect and a heavy heart. I used to work at Del Monte as a casual worker for 3 months. When the contract ended, I was left jobless, and life has been extremely tough. With a family depending on me and no job in sight, I found myself doing something that pains me deeply to admit. I did not return the company uniform after my contract ended. Out of desperation, I started wearing it again.., pretending to be a worker..., just to access the fields and pick a few pineapples to sell. I would carry six at a time in my bag, and go twice a day, selling them for just a few shillings to survive. I know what I was doing is wrong, but I had no intention to harm anyone. I didn’t want to rob shops or attack people..., I just wanted to feed my family the only way I could at the time. But this is not the life I want to live. Every day I asked myself, “How long can I keep doing this?” I completed my secondary education, although I was never able to collect my certificate due to financial struggles. But I’m not lazy.., I’m ready to work, and I believe I can do better if just given a chance. Sir, I am not asking for money. All I’m asking is for a connection to any kind of job.., big or small.. to live an honest life and support my family.
