On 8 September 1994, USAir Flight 427 also rolls and crashes within thirty seconds, killing all 132 people on board. On 9 June 1996, Eastwind Airlines Flight 517 also rolls unexpectedly in similar circumstances, but the crew successfully regains control of the aircraft and lands safely. If I recall this is the one where the hydraulic actuator which controls the rudder went into reverse, so right became left and left became right...the harder the captain was trying to bank right to correct it was actually making the plane go left! all because of ice which froze actuator!

Wrong livery. US Air 427 was in the red, white and blue color sceme. You really take commercial air travel for granted until one comes down. This day has never been forgotten in Pittsburgh.

this happened to 3 planes. the first two crashed with no survivors. the captain was able to bring the 3rd one, landing in Richmond Virginia, under control at the last minute and land safely. then they figured out the rudder actuator issue.
