i’m confused how this works? how many handlers are out there? Why do we think dogs NEED other dog friends? I could understand if you want neutrality but you could get that without the possibility of an attack.

Do you have any tips to get a dog to stop alert barking in public? I have a ptsd service dog. He didn’t used to do this but after working with me in public (I deliver Instacart) and having other people’s dogs lunge at him in the store & also watching me get chased & cornered by people’s dogs when they don’t put their guard dogs away and I am delivering their groceries…. He now won’t stop alerting me when he sees another dog.

Is there a chance, even after their training, they could possibly snap. Or do you also teach owners to read their body language w triggers etc. It’s a good work you’re doing but I wouldn’t trust a dog after an incident 🥺

As a small time dog trainer here and in school for animal science and behavior I have seen in many videos of other trainers having their own dog who can/will correct other dogs for certain behaviors such as aggression or even as you said other dogs trying to get you, what I am wondering is if that was taught to your dog or rather a natural instinct from your dog to exhibit those behaviors on your behalf?
