@lorihendricksoncst: This little sweetheart came to class from out in the community. Her mama was having such a struggle consoling baby most of her waking hours. Ever since mama’s milk came in, baby was gulping air when nursing and that trapped air wasn’t able to move up or down and OUT because her diaphragms were so tight and unyielding. So, even though baby was crying, I felt strongly that it was important for me to gently keep up the work in hopes that we would be able to soften her diaphragms and let that gas escape. You can see her slowly relaxing into the work, even through her tears, and I am finally able to pick her up into my arms in a forward, deep seat so I could work a little bit in her mouth. You will see, at the end of this reel baby in mama’s arms completely relaxed, alert, and happy - and of course, mama was over the moon! This work can be loud and messy sometimes, but it’s always worth it when we see baby settle into their own little body with ease and comfort. Let’s Help the Babies!
