Sitting with the emotions…I feel them but then what..in the “profound healing”…is it leaving the emotion, asking new questions, speaking to it with new confidence, building new strength and structure? Many including myself avoid that part or go to therapy to lean how to do that but you’re right it’s easy to avoid or get stuck in the cycle. “Willpower” and pushing through is probably just another bypassing. How do we know we have freedoms

This is me. 41 years. So sick of myself and my “story”. That “version of myself” keeping me here is Fired (like that ;). Think my problem is I don’t know how else to be or who to become now.

take this how you will. as a therapist in the mental health field I know we have historically and some still do focus on symptom management. so I appreciate the sentiment and awareness. but I just ask you present it with the full value it deserves. some people are in places where management is all they can do. and there are more and more practices engaging the nervous system to help with the healing. somatic therapy has been showing up more and more and that focuses on the body and expression and all of that. I appreciate the sentiment because youre right, our wounds are not us. but I just ask you dont push people away from what they thought could be helpful, but encourage the mindfulness and tell them what they can look for.

Process emotions as you feel them so you aren’t held hostage by them later.

Ooo I got it! When the ego has been through trauma and sees the sympathy it receives, they continually relive it in order to continue receiving sympathy, and therefore develop Munchhausens! And because it’s the ego, it is very hard to get rid of or to be healed on your own and you have to have someone that identifies with this or has experience with it to help you identify it.

I agree with you 100% except when it comes to physical wounds if your life revolves around physical ailments chronic debilitating physical unrelenting issues that’s pretty much all you have time to deal with even though you want so badly to laugh and smile and talk about something elseit’s near impossible

I don’t know why I resonate with you so much, but I really do. I was a victim throughout childhood..for good reason. But the best thing I ever heard when I started to recover from that was when a wise person told me: “you didn’t stand a chance. It wasn’t your fault. But it is now 100% your responsibility”. 100% MY responsibility what I do for me now. So empowering to realise that. Scary..but empowering. ❤
