I dropped out of college and went to trade school. Paid 4k for an electrical certification that took 4 months to complete. 7 years later I have an engineering job title (without a degree) and work on robots for major tech companies. Best decision I’ve ever made.

I don’t agree. My husband went back to school for trades, graduated and couldn’t get a decent paying job. Now he’s back in school again for his masters. I think just saying go back to trades is inaccurate. People should be doing their due diligence to ensure the program fits what they want and would pay the amount they hope to get.

As a 25 year old in the trades with college. Yes the money is good but you always have to trade your body for a paycheck. I’d gladly take a pay cut to have an office job.

My husband was a pipe fitter and now he’s getting bilateral knee replacements at 50 and has always suggested my son go to university instead. Kills your body.
